Vande Bharat Express Train Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru Route: Indian Railways on Monday (November 7) successfully conducted the trial run of to be launched Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express from Chennai’s MG Ramachandran Central Railway station. This is going to be the first semi-high-speed service for southern India.

The Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express train will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 11 (Friday), the first such indigenously-built high-speed rail in the southern part of India and the country’s fifth. 

Vande Bharat Express Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru Timings

 

Vande Bharat Express will commence its journey from Chennai Central at 05:50 am. It will cover a distance of 359 km to reach Bengaluru City Junction at 10:25 am. The train will halt for 5 minutes at the junction and will depart at 10:30 am. It will cover another 137.6 km to reach the destination station - Mysuru Junction - at 12:30 pm.

On the return journey, Vande Bharat Express will depart from Mysuru Junction at 1:05 pm and will reach Bengaluru City Junction at 2:55 pm. After a halt of 5 minutes, the train will depart from Bengaluru City Junction at 3:00 pm. It will cover a distance  359 km to reach the destination - Chennai Central - at 7:35 pm.

Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Vande Bharat Express Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru will run on this route: Chennai Central, Bengaluru City and Mysuru Junction. In between, it will cross Perambur, Veppampattu, Katpadi Junction, Gudupalli and Malur.

Vande Bharat Express Train 

The first Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off on February 15, 2019, on the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route. The government has dedicated significant efforts towards strengthening the ‘Make in India’ campaign, and Vande Bharat Express is one of the success stories.

What is unique about Vande Bharat Express Train?

Speed, safety, and service are the hallmarks of this train. Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, a Railways Production unit, has been the force behind the system integration of these rails in just 18 months.

The Vande Bharat Express can run up to a maximum speed of 160 kmph and has travel classes like Shatabdi Train but with a better travel experience for passengers. This train is the next major leap for Indian Railways in terms of speed and convenience.

Bharat Express Train Safety Aspects

The Vande Bharat 2.0 trains have the KAVACH (Train Collision Avoidance System) for enhanced safety in operations. There will be improved security with four emergency windows added in every coach.
