Urgent message for Indian Railways passengers about morphed photo about trains

Fake news is being spread on social media platforms on the operation of passenger trains by the Indian Railways. It is being claimed on the social media that from 1 February 2021, all passenger trains, local trains and special trains which have been temporarily halted will resume operations. Government’s PIB FactCheck team has rejected all such claims and rumours, saying that there has not been any announcement made with regards to this.
The Railways Department had in March 2020 stopped running all the regular trains due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and subsequent lockdown. The Indian Railways gradually resumed operations of several trains depending upon the need. The Indian Railways has been increasing the operations and frequencies of many trains, keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers and their safety.

Amid all this, a message on the social media has been in circulation which has claimed that all the passenger trains, local trains and special trains will resume operations from 1 February 2021. To dispel all such rumours, the PIB FactCheck Team has issued clarification with regards to this. It has said that the Indian Railways has not made any such announcements till now.
No announcements made by Railway Department:
PIB FactCheck has called these claims bogus and said that the department has not made any such announcements. It has tweeted that a “morphed” image has been claiming that the Railway Board has announced that all passenger trains, local trains and passenger special trains will be resuming operations. It said that this is fake and no announcements have been made with regards to this.
Any decision on this to be conveyed to the passengers
Many such false claims are being circulated on social media. Many people have fallen prey to this news, believing in such fake news. It is to be noted that the former Railway Board CEO Vinod Yadav in December 2020 has said that there has been no decision on running the trains like the pre-covid period. There will be an official notification if any such announcement is made.
