Train Ticket New Rule: Railways has announced new rules regarding the payment of its general tickets, which is going to provide a lot of relief to crores of people travelling on general tickets in the country. From April 1, passengers will be able to pay for general class train bookings on the Indian Railways network using the UPI mode of payment, which will significantly ease the ticket booking process for passengers.

In this new service of the railways, people will also be able to make payments through a QR code at the ticket counter present at railway stations. The payment can be made through major UPI modes like Paytm, Google Pay, and Phone Pay.
The promotion of digital payment by the railways is going to provide a lot of relief to the people going to buy general tickets at the daily ticket counter. With digital payment through UPI, people will get relief from the problem of losing money.
The time spent by the employee present at the ticket counter arranging the cash will be saved. People will get tickets in less time through digital payment, which will also promote complete transparency.
Bullet train
Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw early said that India's first bullet train will be on track in 2026. The bullet train will run in one section from Surat. The Railway Minister said the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project will prove to be a corridor of economic prosperity, transforming towns and cities along the route and becoming a learning experience for future initiatives.
The Minister mentioned Centre is working on the 508-km-long Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR project, which is expected to be flagged off in 2026.
The Railway Minister has shared a video of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad 'Bullet Train' corridor. With the commencement of this corridor, the time taken to cover the distance of 508 kilometres between the two cities will be reduced to just 2 hours.
