An Indian Railways goods train was reported to have derailed on the main line near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh around 8 pm on Wednesday, September 18. The incident took place when several wagons of the train started to collide with each other after crossing the Vrindavan road on the Mathura-Palwal section.

The flow of ongoing railway traffic in the area was restored using the fourth line, according to sources. 

The incident left the main line connecting Mathura with Palwal in Haryana completely jammed, they said. 

At the time of publishing this report, railway authorities were engaged in clearing the affected route.
