In an official bulletin released by South Eastern Railway, it was confirmed that at 5:31 am on November 9, 2024, a parcel van and two coaches of the 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Express derailed near Nalpur station in the Kharagpur Division.

Accident relief trains and a medical relief train from Santragachi and Kharagpur have reached the site to assist with the ongoing operations. Additionally, buses have been arranged to transport the passengers to their intended destinations.
