The Western Railway has changed the timings for the Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express on July 30. The new schedule will be effective from August 24, 2024.

"Passengers are advised to verify the updated timings and adjust their travel plans accordingly" the Western Railway said in an official release.

Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express: New schedule

The train will now depart from Mumbai Central at 3:45 PM, 10 minutes sooner than the previous departure schedule of 3:55 PM. At Borivali, the train will arrive at 4:10 PM and depart at 4:13 PM, up from the current schedules of 4:20 PM and 4:23 PM, respectively, according to Vineet Abhishek, chief public relations Officer of Western Railway.

The amended itinerary for Vapi indicates an arrival at 5:40 PM and a departure at 5:42 PM. The train will arrive in Surat at 6:38 PM and depart at 6:43 PM. While in Vadodara, the train will arrive at 8:11 PM and depart at 8:14 PM. Finally, the train will arrive in Ahmedabad at 9:15 PM, 10 minutes sooner than the current arrival schedule of 9:25 PM.

The Vande Bharat Express is the fastest and most luxurious train on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. It offers executive classes and chair car coaches. It goes 491 KN from Gujarat's commercial metropolis to Maharashtra's capital. 

Indian Railways is also planning to launch Vande Bharat sleeper trains which are set to undergo trials from August 15. 

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently announced ambitious targets, aiming to deploy around 250 Vande Bharat sleeper trains by 2029. "The completion work of the trainset is in full swing, and the first prototype will be operational within two months," stated Vaishnaw. The manufacturing of these trains is being handled by BEML Ltd at its facility in Bangalore.
