Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express train launched by PM Narendra Modi: Check route, stoppages, ticket fare and other details

Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express launched: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, 7 July, flagged Uttar Pradesh's second Vande Bharat train between Lucknow and Gorakhpur. Despite heavy rains, thousands turned up to see the Vande Bharat Express train on its inaugural run from Gorakhpur to Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanied prime minister on the launch event.

Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express: Stoppages, halts, route, stations

During its inaugural run, the Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat train halted at seven stations, including Ayodhya, on its way to Lucknow. 

However, officials said that when the regular operations of the semi-high-speed train start from July 9, it will have only two stops — Basti and Ayodhya — on this route.

Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express will run on six days of the week, barring Saturdays.

The Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express train will have 7 chair cars and 1 executive-class coach which will accommodate 556 passengers in total.

Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express: Ticket fare

On the Lucknow-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat train, the base fare for the chair car is Rs 724, while the fare for an executive class seat is Rs 1,470 per passenger.

The fare includes meals, snacks and tea, which will be provided by the IRCTC.

UP's first semi-high-speed train has been running between Varanasi and Delhi since February 2019.
