Kolkata-Delhi train route affected: Goods train derails near Sasaram; several Express, Super Fast trains cancelled, diverted - Indian Railways
The incident took place around 6:30 am near the Kumau station in Rohtas district at the DDU-Gaya rail route.
The Kolkata-Delhi rail route was affected due to the derailment of a goods train near the Sasaram Junction Railway station on the Gaya-Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay section.
According to news agency ANI, at least 20 coaches of a goods train were derailed at the Kumahu Railway station in the morning, leading to the disruption of the movement of passenger trains on the route. The incident took place around 6:30 am near the Kumau station in Rohtas district at the DDU-Gaya rail route.
Several Express, Super Fast, Mail and Passengers trains were either cancelled or diverted by the authorities. Trains that were cancelled include 12397 Gaya-New Delhi Mahabodhi Express, Gaya-Dehri 03691, Dehri-Gaya 0369, Dehri-DDU 03693, DDU-Dehri 03694.
Several trains were diverted due to the derailment. The trains that have been diverted include 12801 Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express, 12381 Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express and others.
Eastern Central Railway tweeted “Diversion and partial termination of trains due to diversion of 20 wagons of goods train at Kumhau station of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction-Gaya Grand Chord railway section”
