IRCTC Site & App Start Reworking: Technical glitch in ticket booking issue resolved, says IRCTC

IRCTC Site & App Down with Glitch: Hours after a technical glitch stalled ticket booking on the IRCTC website and app on Tuesday morning, the Indian Railway, Catering & Tourism Corporation said that the issue has been resolved and Rail Connect is working now.

Earlier, people booking tickets through the IRCTC app and website on Tuesday morning faced problems as the server was down due to a technical glitch. The company later said in a tweet that the ticketing service was not available due to technical reasons. It further said that the technical team was resolving the issue and would notify as soon as the technical issue got fixed.

"Due to technical reasons the  ticketing service is not available. Our technical team is resolving the issue. We will notify as soon as the technical issue is fixed," the company said in its tweet.

Alternative ways to book tickets

In a tweet, the IRCTC had suggested that as long as the site and app were down, people could book their tickets on B2B players like Amazon, Makemytrip, etc.  

Due to technical reasons, the ticketing service is not available on IRCTC site and App. Technical team of CRIS is resolving the issue.

Alternatively tickets can be booked through other B2C players like Amazon, Makemytrip etc.

Message on IRCTC site

When someone opened the IRCTC website on Tuesday, it was showing the message. "DUE TO MAINTAINANCE ACTIVITY E-TICKETING SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE, PLEASE TRY LATER. FOR CANCELLATION/FILE TDR, PLEASE CALL AT CUSTOMER CARE NO. 14646,0755-6610661 & 0755-4090600 OR MAIL AT etickets@irctc.co.in    

IRCTC site was down on May 6 too

The IRCTC site also faced a technical glitch in the morning on May 6. People had faced problems in booking their tickets at that time too. The IRCTC in its response said that the incovenience was due to the maintainence of the site.
