Railways Action Plan: To expand the network of Vande Bharat in the country, Railways will soon roll out new Vande Bharat Express trains in India. A total of 478 Vande Bharat trains have been sanctioned, of which 78 are underway. The tender for the next 200 will be finalized this month. Check Zee business Ambarish Pandey's report.

78 Vande Bharat trains to be manufactured by Private Company
According to the report, the first 78 Vande Bharat trains will be manufactured by ICF Chennai and private company Medha. All these trains will be chair car models.

Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced from the Red Fort that by August 15, 2023, 75 Vande Bharat trains would be run in the country. That's why Indian Railways is vigorously engaged in manufacturing Vande Bharat Express. Significantly, 8 out of 75 trains have started.

Vande Bharat Trains - Tender Process
The tender process for the next 200 Vande Bharat trains will be finalized this month. The two lowest bids will be awarded the tender. Among these two, the company with the lowest bid will manufacture 120 Vande Bharat trains. While the second lowest will manufacture 80 Vande Bharat trains. These 200 Vande Bharat trains will be sleeper classes.

The Ministry of Railways said Sleeper class Vande Bharat trains are being prepared for long distances to make travel more comfortable.

Vande Bharat Trains - Manufacturing and Speed Details
All these 278 trains will be made of stainless steel and will run at a maximum speed of 160 km. Whereas, the next 200 trains will be made of aluminum and will be lighter. These trains will cover a speed of 200 km.

Demand for Vande Bharat trains in India
There is a huge demand for Vande Bharat Express trains across the country. Every state is requesting the Ministry of Railways for new Vande Bharat trains for their states. There are two reasons behind this -
1. These trains are equipped with all modern facilities
2. It saves time of passengers due to its high speed.
