Indian Railways to operate 7,724 special trains for festive season to ease passenger rush
In response to increased travel demand during the festive season, Indian Railways has announced to operate 7,724 special trains to accommodate travel rush across the country.
Indian Railways on Thursday announced to run 7,724 special trains to ensure a smooth travel experience for passengers across the country because of the busy traffic during the festival season.
These special trains will connect key cities and rural regions, helping to ease overcrowding and provide greater accessibility for travellers heading home to celebrate festivals with family and friends.
Among these special trains, several trains will pass through Punjab. The Amritsar Junction to Gorakhpur Junction train (Train No. 05006) is scheduled to depart at 12:45 PM.
Another special train, operating from Ambala Cantt to Saharanpur Junction (Train No. 04554), is set to depart at 8:20 PM, catering to the increased travel demand within the region.
Indian Railways has taken this active step to enhance passenger experience, especially during the peak travel period of festivals when ticket bookings are high in demand.
The introduction of these special trains is expected to reduce wait times and provide additional options for travellers, making travel more smoother and comfortable.
Trains are always overcrowded during the festive season, it is hard to get a ticket like one does on normal days. Therefore, booking a ticket beforehand can be beneficial.
Passengers can get a seat of their choice and travel comfortably. Chhath Puja and Diwali are some of the popular festivals that are celebrated across the country.
People from every corner travel to their family and friends resulting in a travel rush. Keeping this factor in mind, Indian Railways always ply special trains to ease the travelling of passengers.
