Indian Railways Summer Special Trains: Central Ministry starts two trains between Mumbai and Varanasi
Indian Railways Summer Special Trains: These trains will comprise 21 coaches, including one AC tier 2, one AC tier 3, seven sleeper class, twelve general second class, and two guard brake vans.
In a bid to enhance the rail network and improve travel between Mumbai and Varanasi, Indian Railways has introduced two summer special trains starting from June 12, 2024. The Central Railway has announced these special services to accommodate the increased travel demand during the summer season.
The two trains, numbered 04229 and 04230, was launched by the central railways informed via X on June 11, 2024.
"For the convenience of passengers, Central Railway will run 2 summer special train services between Mumbai and Varanasi" said Central Railway.

Train number 04229 will depart from Mumbai at 1:00 PM and arrive in Varanasi at 11:45 PM the following day. The route includes stops at Thane, Nasik Road, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal Junction, Bina, VGL Jhansi Junction, Orai, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya Cantt, Ayodhya, Shahganj, and Jaunpur.
For the return journey, train number 04230 will depart from Varanasi at 10:20 PM and arrive in Mumbai at 10:30 AM after three days.
These trains will comprise 21 coaches, including one AC tier 2, one AC tier 3, seven sleeper class, twelve general second class, and two guard brake vans.
Passengers can visit the official website http://irctc.co.in or the nearest computerized reservation center for detailed information on train schedules and stops, it added.
