Important Aadhaar ALERT for IRCTC users! Check ticket booking rules, limit update

IRCTC users can now book up to 12 tickets in a month. This facility can be availed only if the user gets himself verified through its Aadhaar number along with at least one passenger also being verified through Aadhaar.  

Earlier, no Aadhaar Verification was required for booking up to 6 tickets in a month. However, this existing facility of booking up to 6 tickets without Aadhaar in a month continues.

Steps to avail the facility of booking up to 12 tickets in a month  

* IRCTC Registered User is required to get himself Aadhaar verified using the Aadhaar KYC option in My Profile.  

* User’s Aadhaar will be verified by sending an OTP on his mobile number linked with his Aadhaar number. On successful submission of OTP, the user will become Aadhaar verified.  

* At least one passenger on the ticket being booked, beyond 6 tickets in a month, should also be Aadhaar verified.  

* Users are required to verify the probable passengers through their respective Aadhaar numbers and store the verified passengers in the passenger master list. This should be done before starting the ticket booking process, beyond 6 tickets in a month.  

* User can add Aadhaar verified passengers from the master list at the time of booking to book additional tickets up to 12 tickets in a month.  

How to verify your IRCTC User ID with Aadhaar  

* Open www.irctc.co.in in your web browser.   

* Enter your login credentials and Sign In.   

* Go to MY ACCOUNT tab and select Link Your Aadhaar.   

*Aadhaar KYC page will appear, enter your Name as per Aadhaar Card, provide Aadhaar Number or Virtual ID, select the checkbox and click on Send OTP button.   

*Provide the OTP received on your Aadhaar Registered Mobile number and click Verify OTP button.   

*KYC response is fetched from Aadhaar. Click the Update button to complete the Aadhaar verification process.   

*Pop-up window with a confirmation message will appear. After that close the window and login again at www.irctc.co.in.  

*Aadhaar KYC status can be checked on selecting the Link Your Aadhaar link under MY ACCOUNT tab on top navigation of IRCTC eTicketing website.
