Singhpur train accident: What happened?; injuries, train cancellations, reschedules and diversions

Singhpur train accident, Madhya Pradesh train accident: Wednesday morning came the news of the derailment of two goods trains at the Bilaspur-Katni rail route of the Bilaspur railway dvision, Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. In the accident, six railway personnel, including two locomotive pilots, were injured. What happened?

At the Singhpur railway station of the Bilaspur railway division, a goods train was stationed on the main track, waiting for the line to be cleared.

Because the Singhpur railway station's home signal was red, another goods train coming from behind had to stop ahead of the station.

But the driver of that train overshot the red signal and rammed the train into the stationary goods train.

The collision happened at 6:45 am and both the trains derailed due to it. 
"Eight wagons and a locomotive of the iron ore-laden moving goods train derailed in the incident, disrupting traffic on the Bilaspur-Katni rail route," an official from South East Central Railway said.

Who are the injured people?

A railway official said that six railways personnel were injured in the incident. 

"As per preliminary information, six railway personnel, including two locomotive pilots, suffered injuries in the incident," the official said.
