Union Budget 2025: What Restaurants Hope from the Finance Minister

The restaurant industry is an integral part of India’s economy, driving employment, consumption, and tourism while significantly contributing to tax revenues. With a current turnover of Rs 5.69 lakh crores, the sector stands as the third-largest in the services industry, after retail and insurance. However, despite its rapid growth, the sector faces several challenges that hinder its potential. The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), which represents the sector, urges the government to provide stimulus measures to ensure the industry can realize its full potential.
