StatAttack! Spotlight on fiscal deficit, tax collection targets

The Union Budget which was placed on February 1, has fixed the fiscal deficit target at 3.4 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while the gross tax revenue is estimated to grow at 17.15 per cent, as per the revised estimates for 2018-19. Centre gung-ho about meeting fiscal deficit and tax collection targets, but the challenge is massive, say experts.
