Xiaomi to launch Mi 10 with 108MP camera in India on May 8
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced that it will launch the flagship-level smartphone Mi 10 in India this week. The smartphone was launched in China in February and was set to arrive in India in March. However, the launch was delayed owing to the coronavirus lockdown in the country.

It is believed that Xiaomi might only launch the standard variant of the smartphone in India and not the Pro model.
The smartphone is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and supports 5G connectivity. It comes with a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display the refresh rate of 90Hz. In China, the smartphone comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
For optics, the Mi 10 houses a 108-megapixel camera with a 1/1.33-inch sensor along with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), the second camera is a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera with 123-degree FOV. The other cameras include a 2-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera of the device is 20-megapixels and is placed in the punch-hole cut out.

The phone is powered by a 4,780mAh battery with support for 30W fast wired and wireless charging. The smartphone runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
In China, the smartphone was launched in three variants - 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant for CNY 3999 (Rs 41,000 approx), an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant priced at CNY 4299 (Rs 44,000 approx) and the top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage priced at CNY 4699 (Rs 48,000 approx).
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has also started the sale of Xiaomi has started the sale of its budget smartphone – the Redmi Note 9 Pro from Tuesday onwards, following the relaxations from the government. The smartphone was launched in India alongside Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in March, days before the lockdown came into place. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is the direct successor to last year’s Redmi Note 8 which emerged as one of the best-selling smartphones from the company in 2019.
