Locals, Forest Dept officials rescue trapped elephant calf in Assams Morigaon
Locals and Forest Department officials rescued an elephant calf in Assam’s Morigaon that was trapped between huge rock boulders. The incident took place at Sonakuchi hills area near Jagiroad in central Assam. According to reports, some local villagers noticed that an elephant calf was trapped between huge rocks while its mother was roaming in the area. They immediately informed the Forest Department about the incident and they immediately took the action to rescue the calf. However, the mother of the calf chased the locals and the forest department personnel when they tried to rescue the calf. One of the villagers was also injured after he fell into ditch when mother of the elephant calf chased him.
