In the meeting of the GST Council chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, many products were included in the purview of GST for the first time. The new rates of GST in the country have come into effect from today. Customers will have to pay 5% GST on purchase of packaged and labelled curd, lassi, paneer, honey, cereals, meat and fish.
