India 360: GoM Suggestions on GST Exemptions, Correction of Inverted Duty Accepted, Says Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the GST Council in its meeting has deferred its decision to tax casinos, online gaming, horse racing and lotteries at the rate of 28%. The Finance Minister said that the rates of GST on some new products and some goods and services will increase from July 18. The Finance Minister has approved the GoM's recommendations on GST exemptions and correction of inverted duty structure. The next meeting of the GST Council will be held in Madurai, Tamil Nadu in August.
