India 360: CCI Orders Probe Against BookMyShow For Alleged Unfair Competition Practices

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ordered an inquiry against the online ticketing platform BookMyShow. It has asked the Director General (DG) of Investigation to submit its investigation report in 60 days. After the order of CCI, it will be investigated whether there is any nexus between Bookmyshow and multiplexes. It is alleged on BookMyShop that 100% tickets are tied up with some theaters on hefty fee sharing. The CCI prima facie suspects that the exclusive agreement has caused damage to the competition. It is alleged that this dominant position has increased the burden of Rs 19-25/ticket on the customers. Watch this special report on India 360.
