India 360: Ayurvedic And Allopathic Doctors Are Not Entitled To Equal Pay, SC Holds

The dispute between Ayurveda and Allopathy doctors is going on for a long time in the country. Ayurvedic doctors argue that both doctors have the same profession, so why they are not entitled to a salary equal to allopathy doctors? On this issue, the Gujarat High Court held that Ayurveda practitioners should be treated at par with doctors holding MBBS degrees. Now setting aside the Gujarat High Court order the Supreme Court has said that Ayurvedic doctors cannot provide emergency facilities, so they are not entitled to a salary equal to allopathy.
