Government to end LPG cylinder subsidy? Here's all you need to know

Government is planning to abolish LPG cylinder subsidy, as per media reports. In the Union Budget 2021, government has reduced allocation for petroleum subsidy (meant for cooking gas and kerosene) to Rs 12,995 crore for 2021-22 from Rs 40,915 crore allocated in 2019-2021. Reports said that the government is likely to use the money mainly on the Ujjwala scheme.
