As Madurai celebrates Chithirai festival, second phase of polling extended by 2 hours

People in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai celebrated annual ‘Chithirai festival’ with great pomp and show. The festival is celebrated in the month of April every year. Due to the celebration, second phase of voting was extended by 2 hours for Madurai Parliamentary constituency on Thursday. ‘Chithirai festival’ is an annual celebration that marks the coronation of Goddess Meenakshi & the marriage of Lord Sundareswara & Goddess Meenakshi.
