How to apply for Baal Aadhaar card? See process, documents required and other details

Baal Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar is a verifiable 12-digit identification number issued by UIDAI to the resident of India for free of cost. It must be noted that even a new born child can be enrolled for Aadhaar. UIDAI has also informed that children below five years of age will get a blue coloured Aadhaar card or Baal Aadhaar which becomes invalid when the child becomes five years of age. Recently, Aadhaar has tweeted from its official Twitter handle about Aadhaar for newborn babies from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "Everyone can enroll for Aadhaar - even a newborn child. All you need is the child's birth certificate and the #Aadhaar of one of the parents. In a subsequent tweet, Aadhaar said, "A child below 5 years gets a blue-colored #BaalAadhaar. This becomes invalid when the child becomes 5 yr old. A mandatory biometric update is required to reactivate the child's #Aadhaar. To book an appointment, visit: appointments.uidai.gov.in/bookappointment."

It must be noted that for children below 5 years no biometrics will be captured. Their UID be processed on the basis of demographic information and facial photograph linked with the UID of their parents. These children will need to update their biometrics of ten fingers, iris and facial photograph, when they turn 5 and 15. Intimation to this effect will be mentioned in the original Aadhaar letter.
Now, the parents must be aware of the process of application for Baal Aadhaar. They need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the official UIDAI website and choose the Aadhaar Card registration option
Step 2: Parent will have to fill in the mandatory information like kid’s name, guardian/ parent’s phone number, and other biometric information relating to kid and guardian/ parent.
Step 3: Fill up the demographic details like residential address, locality, state, and others.
Step 4: Submit all details
Step 5: Click on the Appointment option for registration of Aadhaar card
Step 6: Check nearest enrolment center, fix appointment. Take all supporting documents like Identity Proof, Address Proof, Proof of Relationship, Date of Birth, and the reference number.
Step 7: Once all the process is complete, the Aadhaar centre will provide an acknowledgement number to track the progress.
