UIDAI has been updating Aadhaar card holders about this new number through multiple posts.

Informing citizens about the toll-free number, UIDAI tweeted, "Aadhaar helpline is available throughout the week. For agent support, call 1947 during any of the given hours. IVRS support is also available 24x7."
From Monday to Saturday, you can dial this number between 7am to 11 PM to get any information regarding Aadhaar card. On Sundays, this number is functional between 8am to 5 PM.
You can locate your nearest Aadhaar Kendra with the details like address of the authorized centers in the area by simply dialing 1947 from your mobile or landline. You can also locate an Aadhaar Center using mAadhaar App, said UIDAI.
Now, there is also no language barrier as you can select the language you want your query to be addressed.

Aadhaar is a 12-digit identification number issued by the UIDAI (“Authority”) to the residents of India after satisfying the verification process laid down by the Authority. Any individual, irrespective of age and gender, who is a resident of India, may voluntarily enrol to obtain Aadhaar number.
