Address Change via Aadhaar Self-service Update Portal: If you have moved to a new home or relocated to a new place,  you don't have to worry any more as the Aadhaar self-service update portal allows you to update your address online. Through this self-service update portal, an Aadhaar user can update certain details. The Aadhaar has recently tweeted from its official Twitter handle that an Aadhaar user is able to update one's address through the self-service portal. The Aadhaar tweeted, "You can now update your address in your Aadhaar online through Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal at ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ to update."

 

In this context, an Aadhaar user must note that in order to avail this service one has to use one's registered mobile number. Also, Rs 50 will be charged for each update request through the online portal.

In order to update one's address via the self-service online portal, the Aadhaar user has to upload the original scanned copy of the address proof as per the valid document list as given in the official UIDAI website at uidai.gov.in. One must note that, one will be required to upload original scanned (with color scanner) copies of POA document as per the Valid Documents List for updating one's address.

An Aadhaar user is also able to update Name, Date of Birth and Gender also from the self-service update portal. There can be a question among the Aadhaar users that how many times, one will be able to update the Aadhaar data. The list is as follows:
Name: Twice in Lifetime
Gender: Once in Lifetime
Date of Birth : Once in lifetime subject to condition that present status of the D0B is declared/approximate. (Change in Date of Birth can be updated only for unverified DoB.
