Guar gum prices came down by Rs 120 to Rs 7,932 per quintal in futures trading today as traders trimmed positions in ample stocks amid muted domestic as well as export demand.

Market players said besides rising stocks positions following constant supplies of guar seed from growing regions against weak domestic and overseas demand, mainly led to decline in guar gum prices here in the future trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum for delivery in October contract dived Rs 120 or 1.49 per cent to Rs 7,932 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 43,560 lots.

Guar gum to be delivered in November contract declined by Rs 66 or 0.79 per cent to Rs 8,073 per quintal, having an open interest of 2,840 lots.
