India's 100th and Sikkim's first airport Pakyong has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 605 crore. The airport was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on September 23. The Pakyong airport of Sikkim is spread over 201 acres and is located on top of a hill about two km above Pakyong village at 4,500 feet above sea level. It is indeed an engineering masterpiece.
