Prime Minister Narendra Modi created history as he took the oath of office on June 9 for a third straight term, becoming the second after Jawaharlal Nehru to achieve the feat that few thought possible for a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader until he shook up national politics in 2014. The grand ceremony, osted at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the national capital, came days after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 293 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
