Experts say that monkeypox is a self-limiting viral infection with symptoms lasting for around 15 to 30 days. The symptoms include fever, headache, muscle ache, back pain, low energy and swollen lymph nodes along with rashes.
Monkeypox in India: India has so far reported four cases of monkeypox, with three from Kerala and one from Delhi. Besides, two suspected cases have been reported in Bihar. Their screening report is awaited. According to a PTI report, a task force on monkeypox will be constituted to provide guidance to the government on the expansion of diagnostic facilities and explore emerging trends related to vaccination for the disease.

The fourth case was reported in Delhi. A man believed to be in his early 30s tested positive for the virus. He had no history of foreign travel. His samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) Pune on Saturday. He was found positive. This is the latest case of monkeypox to be reported in the country.
