Lok Sabha Elections 224 Key Battles: As India awaits the outcome of a six-weeks-long voting process to elect repsentations from its 36 states and Union Territories in the form of 543 Lok Sabha seats, after electors cast their ballots in the world's largest democratic exercise, here is a list of some of the most noteworthy contests in the much-anticipated five-yearly event. Certain Lok Sabha constituencies often draw significant attention due to several factors such as political significance, historical trends, and the prominence of candidates. In the 2024 general polls, all eyes will be on the Varanasi seat, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting against the Indian National Congress (INC) party's Ajay Rai. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is contesting from two seats: Wayanad against the Communist Party of India's Annie Raja and Rae Bareli against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's Dinesh Pratap Singh. Meanwhile, several exit polls have predicted a victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
