Outlined his government's vision to fulfill its 'ease of living' promise on a mission mode, PM Modi said: "We have taken big steps towards modernising infrastructure".

His government has also given priority to ease of living, the PM said in his Independence Day speech. 

The PM sought to revive the ancient Nalanda University spirit, positioning India as a global education hub by promoting higher learning and research. "Recently we have rebuilt Nalanda University in Bihar. Nalanda University has started functioning once again. But in the field of education, we will have to once again awaken that centuries-old Nalanda spirit, we will have to live that Nalanda spirit, we will have to work with great faith in that Nalanda spirit to give new consciousness to the traditions of knowledge of the world," said the PM in his Independence Day address. 

The PM said that his government, under its education policy, wants to develop the kind of education system in the country that ensures that the youth "do not have to go abroad, middle-class families do not have to spend lakhs and crores of rupees".

Instead, "we want to build such institutions here where people from abroad come to India", he said.

Coining a new phrase, "design in India, design for the world", the PM exalted indigenous design capabilities and pushed for the creation of products that cater to domestic as well as international markets.  

The PM highlighted landmark initiatives announced by his government to train the country's youth and transform the country into the skill capital of the world.

He also reiterated his vision of transforming the country into a global manufacturing hub, leveraging its vast resources as well as skilled workforce.

The PM outlined the country's commitment to emerging as a global leader in the area of semiconductor production, aiming to reduce dependency on imports and enhance technological self-sufficiency ('atmanirbharta'). 

The PM announced plans to add 75,000 new medical seats in the next five years, aiming to enhance the country's medical education capacity and address the growing demand for healthcare professionals.

Reiterating India’s ambitious goal of achieving 500 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030, the PM noted that the country has been the only G20 nation to meet its Paris Accord goals.

Mentioning India's aspiration to be recognised for its commitment to quality, the PM stated that the country must aspire to make its standards international benchmarks.

The PM emphasised the importance of green jobs in the country's efforts to combat climate change. Highlighting the country's focus on green growth and green jobs, he reiterated its commitment to becoming a global leader in green hydrogen production and creating sustainable employment opportunities in environmental conservation and renewable energy sectors.

The PM called for state governments to establish clear policies to attract investments, offer assurances of good governance, and ensure confidence in the law and order situation.
