COVID-19 Coronavirus Cases India: In a landmark achievement, India has administered more than 1.13 core COVID-19 vaccine doses yesterday. This feat has been achieved thrice in the last 11 days. The country's COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 69.90 crore, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) informed.

COVID-19: Possibility of third wave?
According to an ANI report on August 23, 2021, the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) warned of a third wave peak in October in its report to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). It has to be noted that the NIDM's report quoted Reuters' opinion survey of 40 experts that forecast that the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to hit India between July 15, 2021, and October 13, 2021. The MoHFW informed that as on September 7, 2021, more than 69.51 crore (69,51,79,965) vaccine doses have been provided to States and union territories so far through the central government's free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category. Further, nearly 78 lakh doses (77,93,360) are in the pipeline. Also, more than 5.31 Cr (5,31,15,610) balance and unutilized COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories to be administered. Source: PTI
