Box office collection: As we enter the second quarter of 2019, a number of big releases await moviegoers. Karan Johar's multi-starrer period drama 'Kalank' is set to hit the theatres next week while Shahid Kapoor's 'Kabir Singh' is already creating a lot of buzz with its teaser release. But, if the first three months of the 2019 are to go by, this could well be the year of non-conventional actors. Vicky Kaushal who rose to fame with his brilliant performance in Sanju last year, started this year with a bang too. And, Kartik Aryaan cashed in on his rising popularity as big names like Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh did well at the box office too. Here are the top 5 earning films of 2019 so far:
5. Luka Chuppi:
Kartik Aryaan returned to the big screen almost a year after the success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and once again managed to impress the movie lovers. His situational comedy with Kriti Sanon opened to Rs 8.01 crore and has managed to rake in Rs 92.73 crore so far. (PTI)
4. Gully Boy:
Ranveer Singh had owned 2018 with blockbusters like Padmaavat and Simmba. The actor delivered another memorable performance in Zoya Akhtar's Gully that earned Rs 140.12 crore. 3. Kesari:
The period drama has been praised by viewers and critics, alike. The film starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra started slow due to Holi, earning Rs 21.06 crore but went on to break many records and has raked in Rs 143.02 crore so far. (Reuters)

As expected, Indra Kumar's comedy flick was an instant hit among the audience, especially family. Third in the Dhamaal series, the film had an impressive star cast featuring Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Madhuri Dixit. It earned Rs 153.97 crore. (Youtube grab)
1. Uri - The Surgical Strike:
Released on January 11, Uri had earned just Rs 8.20 core on day 1. But, a good word of mouth combined with no competition at the box office, helped the film rake in an unbelievable Rs 245.36 crore. The film remains to be the highest earner of 2019 so far. (Official poster)
