Avengers: Endgame off to SURREAL start in India with over 90 pct occupancy, expected to break most records
Avengers: Endgame box office collection day 1: Releasing on around 2600 screens, Marvel's Avengers: Endgame has got off to a surreal start at the Indian box office and is expected to break many collection records over the weekend. Film trade analyst and critic Sumit Kadel tweeted that the occupancy in the morning shows on Friday was between 80 to 90 per cent. He added that in major cities, it even went up to 100 per cent. "#AvengersEndgame is off to a SURREAL start at the Indian Box office with occupancy in morning shows is about 85-90% . In major cities film commenced with 95-100% occupancy," Kadel tweeted.
The 22nd film the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film has witnessed a great response in advance bookings and is expected to rake in over Rs 40 crore on the first day itself. Some experts are also expecting Endgame to give a tough competition to Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan which had earned Rs 52.25 crore on day 1 and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion which had minted around Rs 41 crore. Entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala tweeted that Avengers: Endgame has got off to a record start in India on Friday morning. He added that it even had a record Thursday Previews in North America. Earlier, he had told Zee Business Online that the film may earn around Rs 120 crore over the weekend. "Avengers: Endgame may collect around Rs 115-120 crore in the first three days. The film has all the potential to surpass the collections of Avengers: Infinity War to emerge as the first Rs 300 crore Hollywood movie in India," said Kadel. Image source: Reuters
