Activate SIM without Aadhaar; this is how long it will take
If you are going to buy a new SIM card for your mobile phone, you may have to wait for at least two days to get it activated. Rather, it may take as many as 36 hours or more for the verification process to complete if you are opting for any other option other than Aadhaar. Since the telecom companies will have to activate the SIM card only after physical verification, the process will take more time than it used to take earlier.
NOT COMPULSORY TO PROVIDE AADHAAR DETAILS TO TELCOS
Supreme Court has abolished the mandatory Aadhaar verification rule for buying a new mobile number in its September 26 verdict. Now, a person need not share his/her Aadhaar details with any private company. Therefore, telecom firms have to use other mediums for the Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, said a Hindustan report. Image Source: Reuters
