7th pay commission: MASSIVE gift! Pay hike to Rs 26,000 plus more on the cards for Central government employees
7th pay commission: Ahead of the festive season, Centre is likely to make a big announcement in favour of the central government employees! Staffers have been making demands for a big pay hike for years as per the recommendations that are over and above the amount sanctioned by 7th pay commission report and cleared by the Centre. However, this has not been done citing various reasons including fuelling inflation and revenue shortfall. Government employees say their salaries are not enough to meet their families needs including sending children to good schools and higher studies and therefore, the fitment factor under 7th Pay Commission should be hiked from teh current 2.57 times to 3.68 times, which will take the minimum salaries at bottom to Rs 26,000.

According to reports, things are expected to change for the better now, therefore, salary revisions may also happen. 7th Pay Commission Minimum Salary
The central government employees have been demanding a hike in the 7th Pay Commission minimum salary from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. This is over and above the amount recommended under the 7th pay commission, as it was based on a fitment factor hike of 2.57 times. The demand of employees failed to get the favour of 7th Pay Commission report, though it was submitted prior to submission of the report, which had recommended a jump by 2.57 times in basic salary rather than 3.68 times. 7th Pay Commission Dearness Allowance
Also, if reports are to be believed, Centre may announce the H-2 7th pay commission Dearness Allowance (DA) that is being awaited since July 2019. In August, the central government employees were expecting an announcement in this regard as they were hopeful of getting it a month before the festival season. Since some state governments have already made the DA announcement, the central government seems to be under immense pressure to do the same in this month to placate employees ahead of the festival season. 7th Pay Commission September Gift
If the government goes ahead with the DA announcement, the central employees would get three months' arrears from July to September 2019, and the same would be credited to their salary account in September itself.
