Zomato, Swiggy to stop taking orders from 8:00 pm due night curfew in Maharashtra
Amid stringent restrictions and night curfew imposed by Maharashtra government to curb the spread of Covid cases, Zomato and Swiggy have decided to stop taking orders for delivery after 8:00 pm from Tuesday, india.com reported.

In Mumbai region, the food aggregators, in a notification, urged users to place orders before 8:00 pm. Many users received messages from the food delivery applications stating the delivery service won't be active after 8:00 pm and no orders would be accepted.
Both the leading food aggregators have started showing in-app messages after 8:00 PM in Mumbai that they won't be accepting orders. “We’re currently not accepting orders online. We’ll be back soon,” Zomato’s message reads. While Swiggy through its app says, “We are not delivering here at the moment!”
Maharashtra has become the epicentre of the covid cases - contributing half of the total cases nationally. Alone in Mumbai, around 10000 cases were detected on Monday. The state has breached 47,000 mark in everyday covid cases. Pune and Mumbai are the most affected regions out of top 10 cities in the country, in covid cases, government data says.
The state government on Sunday released a new list of orders to curb the spread of virus cases. A night curfew from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am has been imposed, complete curfew on weekends and have also urged Theatres, bars, salons clubs to be shut. These restrictions are to be in effect till April 30, 2021. This surge in cases is considered to be a second wave of covid.
