At the Zee Real Heroes Awards 2024 event organised by Zee Media on Tuesday (January 14) in Mumbai, aimed at recognising and honouring real-life heroes whose contrbutions to the society will influence millions in their journey going ahead, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari joined via video conferencing from Nagpur. Expressing his views on the event, aimed at recognising the real heroes of the country, Gadkari said the initiative is beneficial for the larger society. He also said that earlier, those helping or saving someone's lives in road accidents or similar incidents faced inquiries and other police investigations, which has been done away with through a Supreme Court judgment.

Furthermore, Gadkari said that these real-life heroes, who offer help in road accidents, were given Rs 5,000 as award money till now. Howver, going forward, this prize money will be increased to Rs 25,000 and the individuals will also be awarded with the certificate by the department, he said.

This is being done in order to encourage people to come and offer help in different areas, said the Union Minister. 

Speaking about certain ongoing projects under his ministry, he said thousands of engineers, contractors, and labour forces have worked tirelessly to scale seven world records. He attributed the achievements made in the sphere to all the stakeholders.

Gadkari also mentioned fhat he constantly thinks and works towards the betterment of the society, to bring about quality reforms in the lives of people.

So, with this mindset, the minister said that he believes that "politics is an instrument of socio-economic reforms". 

Further, the Minister said that while in every sphere both technology as well as resources are integral, time and determination are far more important.

The minsiter also outlined that the ministry recognises best projects, engineers and consultants every year, year encouraging them to continue with their quality work for the country as a whole.
