Yogi Adityanath inaugurates India's longest elevated flyway in Ghaziabad; how travellers benefit

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today inaugurated India's longest six-lane single-pier pillar elevated road in Ghaziabad. The road is the longest flyway in India to be built on single-pier pillars. Prior to the inauguration, the Chief Minister's convoy reached the elevated road and inspected it from Rajnagar to Vasundhara. The 10.3 kilometre-long elevated road has been built to allow non-stop, direct movement of vehicles to travel from Raj Nagar Extension to UP gate on NH-24 and vice-versa. It is believed that the elevated corridor will shorten the hour-long journey between UP gate and Rajnagar to 15 minutes.

The six-lane road has been constructed by the Ghaziabad Development Administration (GDA) with an estimated budget of Rs 1,147.60 crore. Interestingly, this elevated corridor will bring a much-needed relief from daily traffic congestion to daily commuters who are travelling towards Meerut from Delhi or Ghaziabad and vice versa. 

Meanwhile, Samajwadi party national President and former Chief Minister of the state, Akhilesh Yadav in a tweet wrote 'Ram Ram japna paraya kam apna' (claim others work as yours by chanting Ram Ram ).

Interesting aspects of the elevated corridor

The elevated corridor will just not help people to find freedom from jams but modern amenities on the road will help GDA to keep it clean. To keep the road clean, the municipal corporation has installed sensor-based garbage collection points, which will notify the corporation whenever the garbage bins are full. These garbage collection points are also equipped with CCTV cameras.
