WPI Inflation falls marginally to 3.39% in October
The official Wholesale Price Index for ‘All Commodities’ for the month of October, 2016 rose by 0.1% to 182.9 from 182.8 for the previous month.
The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) or wholesale inflation stood at 3.39% for the month of October as compared to 3.57% for the month of September. During the same period last year, in October 2015, the WPI stood ar -3.70%, Ministry of Commerce & Industry said.

As per the Ministry, the build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 4.34% compared to a build up rate of 0.45% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The index for the primary articles declined by 0.8% to 261.8 (provisional) from 263.9 (provisional) for the previous month.
The index for Fuel & Power rose by 1% to 187.3 (provisional) from 185.4 (provisional) for the previous month due to higher price of aviation turbine fuel (4%), petrol, furnace oil and high speed diesel (2% each) and kerosene and LPG (1% each), the Ministry added.
The index for manufactured products rose by 0.2% to 157.4 (provisional) from 157.1 (provisional) for the previous month.
