Want to get a better view of the Statue of Unity? At just Rs 2,900, visitors can now enjoy an aerial view of the 182-metre structure, located in Gujarat's Kevadia. According to reports, fifty nine visitors and six media persons have used this service since its introduction last Sunday.

The duration of the helicopter ride is 10 minutes. Other than the panoramic view of the world's tallest statues, the riders also get a good look of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, Narmada river, and the Satpura and Vindhya hills.

Within 11 days of the inauguration of the statue, which is a tribute to India's first Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, 1.3 lakh tourists visited the place. In a bid to avoid vehicular pollution and traffic, ferry service has also been started by which the visitors can get access to the surrounding areas by special boats.

The statue was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31. The Gujarat government had spent Rs 3,000 crore to build Statue of Unity. According to the state government estimate, around 15,000 tourists visit the place on a daily basis. They have even urged other state governments to build guest houses around the statue.
