Why Cheat India box office collection day 1: Emran Hashmi starrer has got off to a disastrous start at the box office on day 1 with just five to ten per cent opening during morning shows in some parts of the country. The film had released with two other movies - Govinda's Rangeela Raja and Arshad Warsi's Fraud Saiyaan - who had a similar fate as well. All the three films released to poor reviews and face tough competition from Ranveer Singh's Simmba and Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical strike which refuse to slow down.
Despite its offbeat subject, Why Cheat India was expected to earn around Rs 5 crore on day 1, largely due to Emram Hashmi's presence in the film. Even though the official numbers are yet to be released, the film is likely to fall way short of that mark. According to trade analyst Sumit Kadel, the film's first day collections are unlikely to go beyond Rs 3 crore mark.
"#CheatIndia Day-1 Collection heading towards ₹ 2-3 cr nett," Kadel tweeted on Friday evening.
#CheatIndia Day-1 Collection heading towards ₹ 2-3 cr nett.#UriTheSurgicalStrike Second Friday collection heading towards HUGE ₹ 8-8.5 cr nett & eying ₹ 30-35 cr nett weekend 2.

Meanwhile, Uri continued its good run at the box-office and is expected to rake in another Rs 8 crore on Friday which will take its week 2 collection to Rs 35 crore. "#UriTheSurgicalStrike Second Friday collection heading towards HUGE ₹ 8-8.5 cr nett & eying ₹ 30-35 cr nett weekend 2," movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Friday.
In another tweet, Adarsh said that Uri has turned out to be a money-spinner for the makers.
"#UriTheSurgicalStrike economics...CoP + P&A: ₹ 42 cr #Uri is already into profits from India theatrical biz... Non-theatrical revenue [Satellite, Digital, Music] will only add to the [big] gains for the makers... This one’s a MONEY-SPINNER... #Uri #HowsTheJosh," the tweet read.
