Replying to the question raised by the Zee Business, Sitharaman said, "Thee is no delay from the banks' side in disbursal or credit of the sanctioned loans. In fact, there have been requests put forth by the loan applicants to delay the credit line disbursal till the lockdown exists as they won't be able to use the money and their EMI will become operational."

On bank loan and the status of the credit sanctioned, Sitharaman said, "Banks are not shy of giving loans. They are pro-active in giving loans to the applicants. In fact, the amount sought by the banks for meeting the required amount of loans in the wake of Coronavirus crisis, the Government of India, through RBI, has already provided enough liquidity to the banks. If further demand in regard to liquidity crisis comes, the Government of India will definitely pay heed to such requests."
