West Bengal Lockdown News Today: The West Bengal government has decided to extend the COVID-19 lockdown in the state till July 15, 2021. However, certain relaxations have been given in the state.

As per an ANI report, on Monday while addressing media persons, West Bengal Chief Minister said, "COVID-19 restrictions will remain into effect till July 15." The West Bengal Chief Minister has also informed the several relaxations that have been allowed in the state.

West Bengal imposed the lockdown restrictions in the state due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic from May 16, 2021. These restrictions were again extended till June 15, 2021, and then again till July 1, 2021. Now, the restrictions have been extended till July 15, 2021.

As per the announcements of the Chief Minister, here is a list of things that will be allowed and those restricted:

1) The private and corporate offices can remain open from 10 AM to 4 PM with 50 per cent capacity

2) Salons and beauty parlours are allowed to remain open from 11 AM to 6 PM with 50 per cent seating capacity. Also, the staffs have to be vaccinated.

3) Fitness centres and gyms have also been allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity

4) The local trains and the metro services will remain closed. However, public transport has been allowed to operate with 50 per cent occupancy. The public and private buses and auto rickshaws can run with 50 per cent capacity.

5) The vegetable and fish markets have been allowed to remain open from 8 AM to 12 PM.

6) All the other shops have been allowed to remain open from 11 AM to 8 PM.

7) In wedding ceremonies up to 50 guests have been allowed

8) It must be noted that no movement except for emergency needs will be allowed from 9 PM to 5 AM

According to the health bulletin released by the West Bengal government on June 28, 2021, 1761 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in the state.
