West Bengal Budget 2021 Highlights: Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister has presented the state budget for 2021-22 on Friday. Amit Mitra is the Finance Minister of the state. However, currently, he is under medical supervision. In his absence, the West Bengal Chief Minister has presented the budget for the state. Incidentally, this is the last budget before the legislative assembly elections.

Zee24 Ghanta digital reported that prior to delivering the budget, the Chief Minister stated that the GDP of the state has increased by 2.5%. Moreover, the welfare schemes introduced by the government will continue. 

West Bengal Budget 2021 Highlights: 

* 500 para-teachers will be recruited for 100 new Nepali, Hindi and Urdu schools.

* 1500 para-teachers will be recruited for 500 Santhali schools.

* 100 English medium schools will be constructed for the tribal people.

* The para-teachers will enjoy a hike of 3% every year.

* Students will receive tabs under the 'Taruner Sopno' scheme.

* Rs 50 crore will be allotted in the next financial year for the Madrasas.
 
* Netaji battalion will be introduced in Kolkata Police.

* Construction of new roadways will take place in Cooch Behar.

* Construction of new flyovers will take place in the following areas:

   Paikpara to Sealdah
* EM Bypass to New Town

* Ruby Hospital area to Kalikapur

* Jadavpur to Prince Anwar Shah Road

* The 'Duare Sarkar' initiative started by the government will now take place twice a year.
 
* All road taxes have been exempted due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

* Tourism industries will receive loans between Rs 50 thousand to Rs 1 lakh.

* West Bengal Highways and Bridge Corporation.

* IT sectors will receive plots in Rajarhat.

* In the next two years, Andal airport will be projected as the second international airport of the state.
