Weather Update Today LIVE: India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast today for East and West Uttar Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh has revealed that heavy rainfall is expected. IMD has also forecast that states in the Northeast such as Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh may also witness heavy rain later in the day.

Meanwhile, people of Bihar witnessed light to moderate rains in the last 24 hours across the state, which is facing one of its worst ever water crisis. It was the first spell off rain on Monday after the monsoon arrived in Bihar on June 22, according to the local weather department.

The IMD has not only forecast that the rains would continue, but it has also predicted heavy rainfall in the state in the coming days.
Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nutish Kumar had asked all district officials to get ready to fight a likely drought in the state. The rains, therefore, have come as a good news, particularly for the farmers. Notably, a rain deficit of 41 per cent has been recorded for the month of June, while the deficit figures stand at 43 per cent for the month of July so far.
In 2018, as many as 280 blocks in Bihar's 38 districts reportedly were declared drought-hit after deficient rainfall.
