Weather Update: Mumbai rains continue to make life tough; alert in Goa and Himachal

As far as the rest of India is concerned, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert on Saturday for many districts that are likely to witness extremely heavy showers on August 4.
It issued a red alert for Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Nasik, Pune and Satara districts of the state.
Gujarat has also witnessed heavy rainfall, as the Vadodara on Saturday afternoon had another spell of heavy rain amid removal of floodwater from city. Other Gujarat cities like Surat and Valsad have also witnessed a heavy downpour.
The weather body issued an orange alert in Goa, predicting heavy rainfall at various remote areas of north and south Goa. The IMD said heavy rainfall in Goa is likely going to continue for the next five days.
A similar alert was issued for Himachal Pradesh that is likely to witness extremely heavy rainfall on Monday.
While five districts in Odisha--Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada-remained were on high alert as heavy rains are likely to create a flood-like situation in the state.
Monsoon has hit few states with serious effect. The death toll in Assam due to floods reached has 89 on Saturday.
