Warning! ICICI bank account holder? Avoid doing this to save your hard-earned money
The unknown source sends email with offers which are economically nonviable that prompts you to look into the matter and click on the given URL.
While accessing your email, you come across a number of e-mails out of which some are from unknown sources too. Generally, if you are a professional, you go through each and every mail. These days, banks are asking their customers not to open the mails from unknown sources as it can be a trap by online malware cyber attack. Now to alert its customers, ICICI bank has issued a warning/advisory in this regard by specific tweet asking customers not to click on mails send by unknown source. It says that in such mails, fraudsters send you a mail with luring offers asking you to give your details by clicking the given URL.
This click won't lead you anywhere but allow the fraudsters to get an access to all data stored in your mobile phone, laptop and desktop. So, by clicking such URL, you ae inviting fraudsters to take away your hard earned money.
Speaking on the matter Pavan Duggal, a Delhi-based cyber crime expert told, "Such mails are generally packed with attracting offers and to avail that offer they ask you to click on th given URL that leads to looting of your money from the credit card, ATM card or even from your bank account. They can also access to your Aadhar card, PAN Card and other strictly confidential information if you have stored it on your mobile phone, desk top or lap top."
He said that such frauds are done through malware attack that allows them to execute software hack and fish out the important information stored.
Duggal advised people to avoid going to such offers which are economically nonviable. He advised people to install anti-malware software on their mobile phone, laptop and desktop which is available free of cost in online domain.
